Welcome to Wollaston & Strixton Preschool

At Wollaston & Strixton Preschool, we help children discover their potential, grow in confidence, and flourish through play and exploration. Surrounded by our beautiful village, our children learn outdoors, tend our allotment, and enjoy visits to the church, café, museum, and library.

Guided by highly qualified staff and a curriculum tailored to each child’s needs and interests, we provide a safe, welcoming space where friendships blossom, laughter thrives, and memories are made. Keeping the early years unique, since 1965.

Rhyme
Time

Once a week, we bring the magic of Rhyme Time to Wollaston Library!

It’s a fun-filled, lively session where little ones (from birth to 4 years) can sing, move, and explore together. From action songs with colourful scarves to giggles with bubbles, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Join us from 10:00–10:30 for music, laughter, and making new friends—we can’t wait to see you there!

Outdoor
Learning

We believe the best learning happens
outdoors!

Whether we’re splashing in puddles, rolling in the mud (literally!), or heading off on a little adventure, our children are free to explore, discover, and just be themselves. Fresh air, laughter, and a bit of mess are all part of the fun!

Our allotment plot is a huge part of our environment too—growing, digging, and getting hands-on with nature every step of the way.

Out and About in our Community

Community is a huge part of our provision, and we love getting out and about!

From visiting the local church to exploring the library and stopping by the café, there are so many wonderful places for us to discover in Wollaston.

Every outing is an opportunity to learn, build confidence, and feel part of something bigger.

How We Learn

At Wollaston and Strixton Preschool, children lead their own learning. We observe, listen, and respond to each child’s interests through play, supported by skilled educators and approaches like Forest School, Montessori, and Curiosity.

This builds confidence, independence, and a love of learning, giving every child the strong foundations they need to thrive.
