Out and About
Our community is a big part of us and always has been. For the last 60 years we have been a committee-run provision, meaning we have always been supported by the people around us. Giving back to our community is very important to us and over the last few years we have been able to do even more.

As explained in our rhyme time section, we love our local library and understand how important it is to keep it going. We hold fundraisers, visit to read stories, and spend World Book Day there too. These experiences help children build a love of books and reading from an early age, while also helping them understand the importance of community spaces.
Every year we also have visits from the fire service and police. This gives the children the opportunity to meet real-life community helpers, learn about staying safe, ask questions, and build confidence when speaking to new people.

Our children also enjoy visits from mobile farms, giving them hands-on experiences with animals and helping them learn about caring for living things and the world around them.
We also enjoy cheeky little visits to the coffee shop for cake and a drink, trips to the sweet shop, museum visits, the park, chip shop, and so much more. Wherever we go, the children are encouraged to help and take part in the experience.
These outings help teach independence, confidence, social skills, road safety, manners, and respect for others, all while keeping our Wollaston community alive and connected through meaningful experiences and learning along the way.
