FAQ

When is my child able to start?

Your child is welcome to start at our preschool as soon as they reach their second birthday. Please contact us to check current availability and discuss the options available for your child.

What sessions do you offer?

Our main preschool session runs from 9:00am to 2:00pm during term time only. We also offer a range of wraparound sessions to provide flexibility for families. Please see our sessions and fees page on our website.

What are your fees and funding options?

We accept all available government funding for eligible children, including funded childcare places for 2, 3, and 4-year-olds where applicable.

Please contact us for our current fee schedule, wraparound session options, and to discuss the funding available to your family.

When will my child be eligible for funding?

If your child is eligible for funded childcare, the funding starts from the term after their birthday. This means funding begins in January, April, or September, depending on when your child reaches the eligible age.

How do I apply for funding?

Parents can apply for Working Parent Funding through the Government’s Childcare Choices service. If eligible, you will receive a childcare code which must be provided to the nursery before funding can be claimed.

Universal Funding becomes available from the term after your child’s 3rd birthday and is available to all children aged 3 and 4 in England.

There is no parent application process for Universal Funding. Once your child becomes eligible, simply provide Preschool with proof of age and complete a Parent Declaration Form. We will then claim the funding on your behalf.

What will my child need when they start?

To help your child settle in comfortably, please provide:
  • A named bag for their belongings (We have some available from our Uniform supplier)
  • A spare set of clothes, including underwear and socks
  • Weather-appropriate outdoor clothing (such as a coat, hat, wellies, puddle suit, gloves, or sun hat)
  • Nappies, wipes, and creams if your child requires them
  • A named water bottle
  • Any comfort item your child may need during their settling-in period
  • Please ensure that all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Do you have a uniform?

Uniform is optional but if you would like to purchase it, it can be ordered online through our uniform supplier. We also have a range of hats and bags available.

Please visit our Uniform link for ordering information, sizes, and prices.

What primary schools do you work with?

We work closely with Wollaston Primary School and Irchester Primary School, and we also maintain strong links with all the local primary schools that our children progress to. Our aim is to ensure every child experiences the smoothest possible transition as they move on to the next stage of their educational journey.

Does my child need to be toilet trained?

Your child does not need to be toilet trained to start at our preschool. We understand that every child develops at their own pace, and we will follow both the child’s and family’s lead throughout the toilet training journey. Our team is here to support children and parents, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical advice whenever needed.

Is there a minimum of sessions my child needs to attend?

No, we do not set a minimum number of sessions that children must attend. However, we strongly recommend that children attend at least two sessions per week, as this can help support a smoother transition into early education and preschool routines. We understand that this is not always possible, and we will work with families to find an attendance pattern that best suits their needs.

Can I come and see the preschool before registering my child?

Yes absolutely! Parents’ and children are always welcome to visit our preschool to see if it is the right fit for your family. Please email or phone us to arrange a suitable time to visit. You are welcome to visit more than once, giving both you and your child the opportunity to become familiar with our setting.

If you decide that our preschool is the right choice for your child, we will arrange settling-in sessions to help you all feel comfortable, confident, and ready to start their preschool journey.
