Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
What is EYFS?
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the framework that guides learning, development, and care for children from birth to five years old. It helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop through play, exploration, and positive experiences.
At our setting, we follow the EYFS framework to support children in all areas of their development. We provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can build confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

The Seven Areas of Learning
The EYFS is divided into seven areas of learning and development:

How Children Learn
Children learn best through:
- Playing and exploring
- Active learning
- Creating and thinking critically
Our practitioners carefully observe each child, plan activities that match their interests and needs, and work closely with parents to support their progress.
Working in Partnership with Parents
We believe that parents are a child’s first and most important educators. By sharing observations, achievements, and experiences from both home and the setting, we can work together to help every child reach their full potential.
Monitoring Progress
We regularly observe and assess children’s development to ensure they are making progress. These observations help us plan meaningful learning experiences and provide support where needed. Parents are kept informed about their child’s achievements and next steps throughout their EYFS journey.
