Introduction to our Preschool
Our story began in 1966, when Wollaston & Strixton Preschool first opened its doors in the village hall. From there, we moved to the Parochial Hall, and today we’re proud to call The Way Building on the primary school site our home. We remain a committee-run provision, supported by an incredible team of dedicated and passionate educators who work tirelessly to nurture every child’s development. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of supporting countless families across Wollaston and the surrounding areas — through the good times and the challenging ones — always offering a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment. We have moved with the times and have supported child development research along the way.
Thanks to the amazing community support, we recently enjoyed a garden transformation, creating a child-focused outdoor space that encourages curiosity, exploration, and growth. We’re proud to be a 100% free-flow provision, believing that there’s no such thing as bad weather — only bad clothing!
Our children love spending time at our allotment, where they learn to grow, cook, and share their own fruit and vegetables. These experiences help them build essential life skills and confidence for their future adventures.
We believe that a mucky child is a happy child — and you’ll certainly see that joy in some of our photos!
