Introduction To Our Breakfast and After-School club

The Sunrise and Sunset Breakfast and After-School Club was established in September 2010 to provide wraparound care for the children of Wollaston Primary School. We are managed by Wollaston and Strixton Pre-School, a community preschool run by a voluntary management committee of elected parents and carers.

We provide a friendly, safe, and caring environment for children aged 4 to 11 who attend the primary school, where we strive to meet each child’s individual needs in a fun and exciting way.

The day-to-day running of the Sunrise and Sunset sessions is delegated to our Deputy Manager, Grace Henson, and overseen by the Setting Manager, Kerry Gay. Our sessions are planned and guided by the children’s interests to ensure they feel at ease in the club and enjoy the time they spend with us.

Besides providing a fun club for your children to go to, we place great emphasis on developing self-esteem, confidence, language and communication skills. For children in Reception, we plan activities around the Early Years Foundation Stage to help continue the learning they receive in school.

Wollaston and Strixton Pre-School’s last Ofsted inspection, in July 2023, gave us an overall rating of ‘Good’, which we are very proud of, and we hope that this standard is also reflected in the Sunrise and Sunset Club. We are always looking for ways to improve the effectiveness of our childcare provision and continuously act on Ofsted’s recommendations.
